Hi Everyone,
Here is an interesting phenomenon I have noticed in the two years+ I have been out of the Org...
Sunday is by far the most difficult day of the week for me. Spiritually emotionally logistically.
I find myself feeling scarce, unlovable, frightened by bad news, and unbalanced in general.
I was pretty deep "IN" the Org my entire life. Baptized at 15, my mom & older siblings were all regular pioneers, I was a Continuous Auxiliary pioneer throughout high school and a regular pioneer till I got married at the age of 20. I was a MS at 20 Elder at 30.
So Sundays typically looked like family day, study watchtower with wife, field service, shepherding calls, congregation meeting, Elders meetings etc... Fellowship with friends and or hosting that Sunday's speaker. Stuff like that, all day.
I feel a tangible vacuum of connection and spiritual activity on Sunday's now. Yesterday was especially tough.
Any thought's or feedback on this?

Re: Are Sundays Tough for You?
Mon, March 17, 2008 - 5:54 PMHmmm. I generally feel only overwhelming happiness on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evening because I'm not at meetings....

Re: Are Sundays Tough for You?
Mon, March 17, 2008 - 6:13 PMYeah, sometimes, I have a hard time just relaxing and feeling okay about doing nothing on Sundays, I have a need to feel productive. Like I have to make good use of my time and get something done. But that could just be my personality not anything to do with the Org.
But Tuesdays and Thursdays, yeah I definitely feel relieved. Those were the most dreaded of meetings for me, I was so tired by the end of the day from working, then I would have to get all dressed up and put my smiley social face on. .... guh. Too bad I wasn't just a housewife JW that sat around just waiting for meeting all day, studying and ironing my dress clothes.
Sometimes I would suffer a great deal of anxiety before going to meeting, like just pulling into the parking lot and stuff. A lot of times so badly I just wanted to go home and curl up in my jammies and not deal with these people.

Wed, March 26, 2008 - 8:43 AMyes...it was hard early on, but what worked for me was finding other tasks for those times...it felt wierd for me b/c i was used to doing one thing & hadn't found anything to fill that void...cooking, movies, exercise, friends, etc...
2 years is & isn't that long...

Re: Are Sundays Tough for You?
Tue, April 1, 2008 - 7:25 PMI hated getting up in the morning on Sunday so I felt relieved. I remember many Sunday meetings tired as a teenager from staying up the night before. There was school all week, service on Saturday and then Sunday's meeting...there never was time to sleep in!
