Hey sinners! Got space in your handbasket for me? :-)
I am 35. Have been gone since I was 22. Most of my family is behind, so the whole shunning thing is in play. Would love to find a community here!

I thought it was six bowls of anger and one bowl of really hot porridge.
"Would love to find a community here!"
You found it!

Fri, July 25, 2008 - 8:01 AMWelcome Amy you will find you are among friends!! Some of us are pretty angry at JWs and the Organizations, some of us are over it, and have close family members still deeply involved.
Feel free to speak your mind.
This tribe's been a little dull for awhile, glad to have some fresh activity!! :)

Tue, August 5, 2008 - 3:49 PMHi Amy. You've certainly found a community here. I'm 31 and left when I was 20 so you've been out a couple years longer than me. I followed three of my seven older brothers out of the religion and recently one of my brothers left too, but the parents and those still trapped in the religion are practicing the whole shunning thing, although the parents have started backing off the shunning in the last couple years. I broke my neck two years ago and they went out to Nevada, picked me up and moved me in with them. I'm no longer living with them but every once in a while we talk.
